I’m glad you’ve made your way here to my little writerly corner of the world.
I’ve been a writer since I could put pen to the page. I wrote my first book when I was in Kindergarten, a fun tale about triplets named Jenny, Nick, and Michael. I continued to write about this family for years, and my friends and family who knew me in my childhood also knew them and their eccentric adventures well.
Jenny, Nick, and Michael turned into more and more stories – my unfinished novels of Darby and Rory, of Marran Mimidae, of Noel and Darius, until eventually, I landed on a novel I was able to complete, that of Maddox Fox. In 2012, my dream of becoming an author finally came true, and I held my very first book in my hands.
I base so much of my writing and creations in history. My books are steeped in family history, much of my writing inspired by my own ancestors. I believe in the power of stories, both fictional and true stories from the past, to inspire change for good today.
I am exploring so much in my writing through my work at Vermont College of Fine Arts as well as at The Institute of Children’s Literature. I am working with amazing mentors and am learning so much all the time. My works-in-progress are all fictional works for young people. I write every morning with coffee and good music!
See ya around!
